“It had to be easy to maintain — but still look amazing from the street.” Low-maintenance and high-impact rarely arrive together.
The homeowners wanted their property to stand out on the street, but they didn’t want to spend every weekend mowing, watering and weeding. Most low-maintenance yards solve the second problem by giving up on the first.
This one didn’t. Premium synthetic turf, a bold geometric paver grid and crisp concrete curbing give the yard an architectural look that needs almost nothing from its owners — and the same design language runs from the front yard to the back.

Synthetic turf and the paver grid
Premium synthetic turf stays green 365 days a year: no mowing, watering, fertilizing or brown patches after a Winnipeg winter.
Set into it, clean-cut square pavers form a precise grid — part art installation, part pathway — that gives the lawn replacement real architectural structure.

The sport court
A professional-grade sport court gives the family a dedicated place for games and exercise. The vibrant blue surface adds a playful note, and the turf surround keeps the area clean and mud-free all season.
Curbing and clean edges
Poured concrete curbing defines every edge, separating turf from decorative black gravel and keeping each material where it belongs. The gravel adds contrast and depth, and needs nothing at all once it’s down.

Drought-resistant planting
Strategic planting softens the geometry without adding work. Drought-resistant perennials and shrubs thrive in Winnipeg’s climate with minimal intervention, on drip irrigation for the beds only — proof that low-maintenance doesn’t mean no plants.
